What to pack for Mizoram

Packing list tips

Mizoram image

In Mizoram, India, a hilly state located in the northeastern part of the country, the weather remains relatively mild and pleasant throughout the year.

However, due to its elevation and proximity to the Himalayas, temperatures can vary significantly between day and night. Lightweight and breathable clothing such as cotton shirts, tops, and shorts are suitable for the summer months (April to June) when temperatures can reach up to 30 degrees Celsius. It is important to also pack a sun hat and sunglasses to protect yourself from the strong sunshine during this time.

For the monsoon season (July to September), it is advisable to bring waterproof clothing and shoes as rainfall is common. Umbrellas and raincoats are essential items to combat the heavy downpours that characterize this time of year. During the winter months (October to March), temperatures can drop significantly, especially at night. Layered clothing such as sweaters, jackets, and scarves are recommended to stay warm and comfortable.

A sturdy pair of shoes or boots are also important to navigate the rugged terrain of Mizoram.
